Find Birds Faster!

My birding friends over 40 years of age and in particular contact lens users may want to check this out.

I will explain.  Last weekend in Central Pa it was near 100 degrees and I was trying to find some migrating birds in thick vegetation and very dense trees. As we birders do, we first listen – hear some activity then try and find “movement” in the trees, usually a bird moving from branch to branch. Then we zero in with binoculars. I had so many factors against me last weekend, It was sweltering hot and the birds were just “lazy singing” and not moving. My eyes were extra dry from the heat, and I was having a very tough time seeing detail and everything just seemed unsharp. I  had a recent eye exam and my contacts were new ones, so it was super frustrating and then I thought, “I am going to ask my eye doctor for a stronger prescription for when I am birding. Then it popped into my head, I will just use the two stronger lenses, because I don’t care one bit about seeing up close when I am out birding. So, I came back later that day with two left eye lenses. And WOW what a difference! I was finding birds faster! I had the answer the whole time, I just needed to put it into action. has anyone one tried this? Now, I need an action plan for poison ivy.

There are NO birds in this photo, I was just being mean :)
